Verdantas (as TIG Environmental) assisted a potentially responsible party (PRP) in a complex Superfund sediment site involving five miles of urban and industrial waterway.
Using site-specific data, Verdantas calculated the mass per unit time discharge for contaminants of interest. Our team developed a quantitative method for evaluating the effects of the mass loading on sediments and investigated the potential nexus of the client's historical upland facilities to the site.
Verdantas’ analysis proved that polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) releases from the client’s facilities were much lower than anticipated, resulting in a lower allocation.
